The oil pressure reads past 80 on the gauge. So I put in a new sending unit and still does the same thing. Any ideas I heard some where that they had a problem with the dashes in these trucks. The truck is a 03 chevy 2500hd 6.0 gasser.
The stepper motor for the guage is probably bad. You can send it off and have it repaired for usually less than $100 or so. Its a very common problem on the GM clusters. Your speedometer won't be far behind.
It was also a recall if it had under 72,000 miles, mine has over that and they wouldnt touch it. They said 300.00 to fix the guages which basicly it would be new ones and take the info from mine. Although my guages had another prob that the trans and shifter selector stopped lighting up. I chose to let it go till i have another prob, one like yours tho would make me fix it or look into it...
Yeah that is another option. I just ordered a reman AcDelco cluster from my wholesale acdelco parts supplier today actually. I think it was 275 plus shipping and refundable core. Best part is no down time waiting on one to be fixed and a one year warranty.
