I need to know what the special tool is called and where I can get one that will release the inside clip that holds the outlet side of the fuel filter on a 2003 suburban with the flex fuel option. I tried one from the Zone, but it was too large to fit inside the flange to release the inner clip. There is not much room to get something inside there. Thanks for the help.

I had to get mine from the tool truck. If you still have the one from the zone follow the fuel line and disconnect from the fuel composition sensor. Then fish the whol thing out (filter and hose). Use a hack saw and cut the filter end. Once the hose is removed install the zone disconnect and the old filter pipe will come right out. Install new filter and go for a ride.

There is a special tool that is likely different than what you got at the zone. Its shorter to fit in, then uses a little lever to actually push in and disconnect. Its still called a fuel line disconnect.

Agree with 84zz4s. I've known a few GM techs that use that method.
