03 vortec 4.3 interchange with what years?

Needing an engine for an 03 s10, not finding anything for sure on what years will interchange, or what would need to be change to make them work.

Anybody know for sure??

Really, i'm thinking any 4.3 96 and up "should" work.

But do you have a crankshaft position sensor at or near the harmonic balancer?

Note: i run a 4.3 too, so i know a "little" about 4.3's. Not much, but a little.

It does have that crank sensor, and every thing looks like regular old vortec 96+ 4.3, but salvage yard is saying 02 03 only??
