I tried the search function but can't seem to find an answer. I got a great deal on some 04 Tahoe seats with the integral seatbelts lined up. But can't find wether they will work in a single cab square body. I see people have put them in k5s, but have issues with suburbans....

I have found nothing about a set in a pickup though.

Pics of a bare floor pan seem to make me think it won't work due to what looks like a bump for gas tank space. Has anyone done this?

73-91 Suburban bucket seats are the only thing that will "bolt" in and actually look right .

That being said you could use the seat rails from the burb buckets to mount other seats .

Suburbans , crew cabs , and regular cabs all have the same basic floor .

To install burb buckets in a crew cab all you need is the inner front bracket that spot welds to the floor , and then drill the extra hole for the inner rear .

On a regular cab you have to do the same but also slightly tweak the rear of the tracks to match the slope of the cab . It's an easy swap ,

Your still talking about the 04 style seats right?

I'm unfamiliar with the single cab floor pan contours. Can you post a pic? I'm guessing you have not taken your seats out yet, but I'm sure you've researched this already and likely have a pic of a regular cab floor pan. Regardless, I installed a driver and passenger seat from a '04 Silverado extended cab into my '86 K5 Blazer with slight modifications to the floor like drilling new holes and adding plate steel to the bottom of the cab for extra strength and safety. I also own a '04 Chevy Tahoe, and the seats in it appear to be identical to an '04 Silverado (what I installed in my Blazer). Like I said, I'm not sure the regular cab front floor pan matches a K5 Blazer, but if you'll post a pic it might help.

Here's my seat swap thread: https://ck5.com/forums/threads/project-p-dub-1986-k5-blazer-modifications-and-upgrades.317811/page-5

Here's a few pics I found. Part that bothers me is the 04 seats seem real tall from the bottom of the slide to the seat area. And that bump in the floor is pretty tall it's self. The seats I have in it now are way lower. Basically the slide bolted to the seat and a thin metal frame made by the PO. I'll get a pic of that too.
I read on here that the k5 worked ok for them type of seats but people really didn't seem to think the suburban was ok for some reason.... Something about the floor being different

Yeah looking at that link, the floor of the k5 is WAY different lol. That'd be nice

Thank you for posting a pic. Unfortunately that floor pan is way different than what I was expecting. I knew that was the design of the suburbans, but I didn't realize it was the same design for the regular cab. It appears that there are two really tall "humps" where the seats should bolt on. Mine are not near that tall. I would expect that installing '04 Tahoe seats would be way too high up. I'll look to see if I kept any information about this type of configuration.

Po didnt do bad on the seat frame really..... Maybe I'll just get some regular style seats after all and just do the retro belts from summit. Really seatbelts are all I need. But these seats are broke so I was trying to kill 2 birds with one stone

If your looking for an easy way, these seats aren't it. I went down this road once with my truck. I got some seats out of an 01. The gas tanks humps are to tall to work with the factory slides on one of these seats, it all depends on how much your willing to cut, chop, weld, modify the factory slides to make them work for the floor pans.
You would be better off to find some factory sub slides and just use the seats, but if I recall correctly you can't do that because the framework for the seat is built into the slide.

Now if your willing to modify the floor pans and ditch the saddle tanks.... You could run them with the factory slides.
Either way its a fair amount of work if I remember correctly.

You might be better off looking for a low profile seat out of a different vehicle. Maybe look at the Trailblazer or something similar. Just a suggestion. I wish I could be of more help.

I think I have the seats in it figured out. The handles that tilt the seat back we're stuck. I need new handles for them because they're the wrong ones, and I got the mechanism freed up using channelocks.

Shoulder belts we're sticking because of the trim piece at head level on the B pillar being on half cocked. Now all I need is a center belt.

They sell one at AutoZone for $15. Which will be fine until I find a factory one. I just picked up some grade 8 bolts and washers to bolt it down with and a tap to chase the holes. So seats and belts will be good for now by the end of the day.

Progress is slow today due to it being a Kaz n daddy day lol.
