so i crawled under the tow rig yesterday and my muffler was blown out along the bottom, i wanted a new exhaust anyways so what do yall recommend. i have been looking at mbpr systems, turbo back. does anyone here run that or recommend an other system?

I had an MBRP on my old 00 Cummins, fit was perfect, sound was good (no drone, not too loud, but loud enough) and it held up for the 250,000 miles that it was under the truck :D. It was a 4" turbo back with muffler and 5" tip.
I will most likely use them again as soon as I have some miles on my 11 and am ready to delete :woot:

That is about what I'm looking for. I just wasn't sure how loud out would be. You tube didn't have to many videos for me to listen too.

I got a 4" off the turbo straight pipe that dumps out a 5" tip right behind/under the passenger door. It is especially nice blowing out out the eardrums of ricers:pimp:

It sounded really good, but , it's hard to compare the sound of an old noisy 24v, to a newer common rail. A friend of mine put the same set up on his 05, it was definitely a little quieter then mine, but still had a "good" sound.
Quality and durability of the system was great, it still looked good after a 1/4 million miles when I sold the truck.

I thought the newer trucks came from the factory with 4" stock? If so I would just by a new muffler of your choice and call it good.

What truck is this? Mine is a Mega cab, and the megas have a resonator near where the pipe bends over the rear axle. All other models don't have it. I left my cat in, cut out the muffler, and left the resonator in. It's perfect for me, nice mellow tone at idle but still sounds good under throttle without adding much extra noise inside. I put a 5" MBRP system on my '01, and while it does sound freaking awesome, I was ready for something quieter with my '06.

If it was me I would just go down to an exhaust shop and have them remove the cat and old muffler, and have them put a brand name performance muffler in and be done. Probably would be less than $250.
