so guys and gals, will the wheels from an 06 duramax 2500 fit my 79 one ton running gear?same lug pattern??

They might fit, but will have alot of offset, and might look goofy.

they're 16 x 6.5, with some crazy backspacing. they dont look quite right on an older truck.

ahh, did i mention i have a dually? would that help any? my neighbor has a set with like 200 miles on them...

It might work with your dually. Best way to find out, is to talk the nieghbor into letting you try em on.

I did see that - but he said the neighbor's 06 was a 2500 - the 06 dually's are all 3500s (or above) - so yes the 06 wheels will bolt on - no you cannot use them in a dual wheel application though without some funky spacer sh!t between the wheels.

Yeah, I saw it too. I sort of thought he ment that he had the hubs that could handle the back spacing.. but who knows. I figure if the H1's can be ran with the dually D60F, then these should be ok too, it that is what he has.
