1/2 doors

I am gonna take the doors from my 72 donor truck and make some half doors. anybody done this. Im not sure if its legal here. the state troopers told me to call thier office in baton rouge. i doubt i can explain thia over the phone. anyone have a pic of theirs? i want to loose all the vent stuff and cut it down where it will still latch but have a V or someything missing iout of the middle. 72 truck doors out to fit right. i want some tube doors but i cant get anyone here to tell me if they are legal or not.

If jeeps can run around in your area with their doors off, it is probably legal to run with half doors. I think that ntaj**p started to make some half doors.

I think as long as you have your seatbelt on, it shouldn't matter.

I have a friend in Troop A, I'll check with him but I'm pretty sure its legal. I know there are a ton of Jeeps running doorless around campus and as anal as the campus police are they would be getting ticketed if it is illegal. They pulled me over because he couldn't read the temporary tag taped to my back glass of my car because of the glare from the street lights.

What I would like to see is someone make it so you can swap the doors back and forth quick and easy. All the 2nd gen guys can just pull the hinge pins and remove the doors. I don't think there is enough room on a 1st gen to pull just the pins?

I checked with him, he said its legal to go full door, half door or doorless.

I am gonna work on the pulliung pins idea. sorry it took so long to get back over here but valentines day and the wife = busy!

I've heard that you will need a lip on the bottom of your cab so things can't roll out the door. oif you look at a jeep they have a 3" lip on the bottom of the door opening... /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif
