1/2 ton to 3/4 ton swap

for a direct bolt in to a 78 k5 what year should i look for for a 3/4 ton running gear? I would like to go with a full floter rear axel 14 bolt

I have 3/4 ton rims to use.

I have a 77 , a 14bff from a 79 k20 bolted right in.
A d60 from a 80 k30 bolted right in the front.

I have 3/4 ton rims to use.

For the rear end, anything that isnt a one ton should work. Otherwise you will have to move the spring perches a bit. Front should be pretty much a bolt in with any chev d44 or 10 bolt.

Indeed, 73 K20 axles bolted into my '89 K5.
