What fits and what hits on a D60?

I tried using a rock ring I bought off eBay but it hit the tie rod when turning. I want as big of a cover that will fit because I may also go with a D70 gear upgrade soon.

I have the 1.5" tierod from ORD. I also have the D60 Razorback from DIY4x. No problems!

Do you know if it's "deeper" (ie; room for bigger ring gear) than a stock cover?

That's a pretty neat option. Any idea if there are weakness issues related to the offset?

That would be sweet, thanks!

Btw, no rush. :thumb:

I know my Solid cover is really damn close, and my steering arms are too long meaning I can't turn the knuckles are far as I could stock. My tierod is 1.5" OD. That cover is like over 3/8" thick under the tie rod though, so I figured if it were ever a problem I'd just make a little groove with a grinder. I'd rather just move to high steer and get stronger knuckles though. Or maybe just a trailer and go full hydro...now I remember why I avoid thinking about this lol.

You could always go hi steer.

Here are some pics. When turned to lock is real close

This is with the wheels straight.

And wheels at lock.

I love how Kert does the razor backs. Its very close, but doesn't touch.

Ruffstuff sells those too and he says they have the same strength as one ton TRE's CLICKY

I'm running the same cover that Munipit is and have a 1.5" tierod. Only difference is I'm using rod ends on mine. I had to grind one of the fins a little (with rod ends the tie rod sits a little lower) but it will turn all the way without touching.

Any ideas if the cover has extra room on the inside? Does it hold more fluid than a stocker?

Don't know. pm Kert. He should check in about now. What about hi steer? Then no worries

I'm pretty sure it has more capacity than stock, but I don't know how much.:dunno: If you're thinking about going hydro assist get it with the tabs already installed. Makes for a really easy install.

I could go hi steer but then I'd have to cut down & tap (+ cost of tap) or buy another tie rod, not to mention the left side arm ($). It would be nice if I could make it work with my existing piece, especially since it's basically new.

Our cover may well hold more fluid than a stocker but simply for the fact of the shape not so much the height. It's a tight fit on the inside.

The combination of the thicker material and allowing room for bigger tie rods and well, there it is.

Nice pictures!
