i am thinking about putting a 1" block up front to level out my blazer. some people tell me dude just do it. its not gonna hurt anything iv dont it for years..... and other people tell me no way it breaks u-bolts.... blahh blahh blahh. my truck had them before i did all the work i have done but i dont know if its a good idea??? also if i use blocks can i use the 6 degree wedges??

You can do it safely if you replace the spring center pin for one that goes all the way thru the blocks to bolt everything together as one unit.

Otherwise if you don't, its dangerous and should not be attempted.

Can you do the same to a 2 or 3 inch block in the front? And do they make such a thing?

You can but don't recommend it. Its still getting taller and putting leverage on the u-bolts.

I wouldn't go taller than 1" or 1.5" on flat stock. If you have custom made ones with degree shimmed into them, then its ok.

If you are going to do it, buy the ORD 0 rate add a leaf. It is a 1" block that pins into the springs.

NO and NO .

A 1 inch block with a hole in it bolted to the spring pack is fine , its called a Zero Rate add a leaf , or an EZ Inch . They become one with the spring pack so its safe for getting a little bit back with saggy springs , or to level things .

Anytime you think you need more lift than 1 inch , bite the bullet and buy new springs up front <------------- this is cheaper in the long run , and is safer without putting lots of leverage on a steer axle .

Have you considered longer shackles to gain that lift your looking for?

He's gonna need a shackle that's ~2" longer than current ... and that for sure is gonna dork up the axle geometry, caster and pinion angle both.

New springs at least wouldn't hose the caster so bad. :dunno:
