in my truck is a sbc 5.7 v8 from a 75 camaro and i was wondering if the rear main seal is 1 or 2 pieces since i just replaced my oil pan/gasket to solve a lot of leaks and then i see its still pissing oil.

i want to ****ing kill something, i kicked the driver side door in already

I think the link is leading me to the wrong thing because I have a different default vehicle than you.

Regardless, Fel-Pro makes good stuff.

Figure out where the leak is coming from. You can't really replace the oil pan gasket without replacing the rear main seal (on a 2 piece one anyway) so maybe that's your problem.

The rear main seal is under the rear main cap. You most certainly can replace the oil pan gasket WITHOUT replacing the rear main seal. You're probably just confusing the rear end rubber piece of the pan gasket with the rear main seal of the engine.

To the OP did you use the one piece rubber pan gasket? Those are virtually leak free. They are especially nice when you're changing the pan gasket with the engine still installed as it comes with some clips to hold the gasket in place while you install the pan.
