What road blocks are there in installation of a 78 k30 axle into an 84 k10?

Moving spring perches ...what is the easiest way to not cut into the tubes?

Ebrake cables ....two equal length cables? Just get a set for a 84 k30?

Conversion ujoint?

What am I missing?

front bolts in with dana 60 calipers . but 78 to 80's = diffrent brake hoses for american to metric swap on hose bolt / banjo bolt to caliper. but if getting new hoses get for year of calipers or just get reman calipers for 80's dana 60 to keep metric and reuse hoses you have.

rear is spring perches and shock tabs .

ord kit if reuse your perches http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/uboltreversal.htm

ruff stuff kit full kit http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/14BSS.html

you wont hurt the 1/2" thick tubes if you nick them a tiny bit removing the old perches.

conversion joint easy to get.

e-brake cables if same style were thay clip in to backing plate = then swap to new for newer style.

otherwise basic swap and search here for tons of info posted many times before.

possible drive shaft mods for diffrent lengths of diff pumkins being bigger. but have to install to check.

Did some searching and have another question.

Can I take the backing plates and cables off an 80s k30 for the rear 14 bolt to hookup the parking brake?

When I swapped my tons in place of the 3/4 tons, the ebrake cables were a direct swap. Unhooked the old ones, and hooked the new ones up. No mod's.

Also, not sure if you found this already. But C+C and 3+3 trucks had a different rear perch width. I do believe it is 2-2.5" narrower, cant remember from when we did mine.
