I have a line on some axles out of a 1990 1 ton silverado. Are these good axles? Would the front still be solid axle? Also are they set up for leaf springs in the front? Or coil springs? How hard would they be to convert? Also are they auto locking hub or manual hubs? If they are auto locking how hard to turn them to manuals?

Thanks a ton I might have to hurry on this deal.

is it a new body style or a cab and chasis truck? If its solid axle leaf front its the one you want, and old body style. if its new body style ifs, then pass.

Right if its square bush. Solid axles. D60 and 14bolt. Leaf sprung. Manual hubs.

Confirm the front is a 60 not an 8 lug 10bolt or D44 that someone swapped in. D60 only uses 3 ubolts. The 4th is studs.

I am not sure which one it is. I was trying to figure out if the 90 would have a solid front axle? I know I want nothing to do with IFS

If its a crewcab it will be square body still. Anything else will be ifs.

Can't you look at the truck? As mentioned above some '90 trucks are the new style with IFS, some crewcabs and cab chassis were still the old style you want.

Truck ia over 200 miles away. I emailed the person and they had no real idea what I was talking about, but I am supposed to call her husband tomorrow. The price is real good if it is solid axle... I will see what tomorrow brings.

What configuration is the truck? Std cab / 4 door? Factory pick up with a bed or cab & chassis? Can they tell you if it has locking hubs?

quick answer (if they are clueless) is to ask what (IIRC) is the 5th digit of the vin. If its a V its the axles you want b/c its the older bodystyle. If its a K, then pass b/c its the gmt400 series truck with IFS
