I just bought a 1 ton Chevy Van. I have read somewhere here before about the 14 bolt rear being a sought after item. Why is this? I bought it for towing the Blazer to and from the trail. It is a little rough, but the price was right. It needs a little cosmetic work to make it comfortable. The 350 motor is strong and it shifts well.

The rear on a van is 3"s wider that that of a truck

And that puts the rear axle as wide as the front.
More stability off road but has it's minuses as well, it will hit the fenders on full stuff, it will make taking tight corners even harder...
In your van it should be fine though.

So , does this mean your Blazer is gonna get some more damage soon , I loved seeing you squeeze through the firehole :pimp:

I am not going to change out any axles at this point.
I got the van to tow the Blazer to the trail and to sleep in it if I need to. My Blazer is a beeatch to drive on the road with the 4.56 gears.
I need some space for all these vehicles! I think i have a sickness?. We have six running vehicles at my house. 4 of them ar four wheel drive...
