Did a search and talked to some people and still dont have any idea. I put 4" front lift springs that I had from my old K5 on my 89 Crew Cab. I used 1" zero rates and the 1/2" longer ORD shackles. Now I am about to lift the rear with a 4" shackle flip and stock 8 leaf springs, which I had to replace both of the main leafs that were broke. Should I put a zero rate on the back or not, to get the truck to sit level? I read that the 4" front springs would only give me 2.5" lift on a 1 ton. It sits as high in the front as a friends 1/2 ton with 6" springs and 36" tires, mine has 35". Any help would be appreciated.

As bad as I hate to say it, but I think I was told almost the same thing a while back, it's going to be one of those things that you're just going to have to try it to see for yourself because every truck is different. Do everything but the zero rates and if you feel that you need them, they aren't hard at all to put in. I did the same thing with my Blazer (shackle flip) and I'm waiting on my zero rates to come in as we speak because I want to move the axle back and have it sit level or a wee bit ass high. Good luck with it and let us know how it turned out! :waytogo:

Yeah, my first thought is to leave them off since I have the brackets and shackles on one side and eyeballing it, it looks high in the rear already. Just trying to see if someone with a 1 ton has run into the same problem as I dont have alot of extra time to mess with it, just fixing all the extra BS I have run into on this project has put me way behind.

I put 4 inch superlift springs on the front of my k30 and ord flip in the back with 3/4ton springs. The truck sat a little higher in the back than the front but after the rear springs had been flexed it seemed to level out. I didnt take any measurements before or after the front lift springs so I dont know if I got an actual 4 inches or only 2. Either way with some trimming I am able to fit 37 inch tires in there pretty well. I would say put it togeter with the zero rates, and then if you dont like how it looks just pull them back out. I dont think there is a right or wrong way to go.

Did the rear lift yesterday with the zero rates and it sits a little over an inch higher than the front with no bed on it, when I put the new bed and gas tanks in I think it will be just about right.

Lift and ORD crossover steering/tierod is done also added the XJ steering shaft upgrade with the 2wd steering box. I replaced the gas tanks and brackets while the truck was apart, and have been held up waiting on GM to get me the correct brackets in. Last one came in yesterday but I will be going out of town for a couple of weeks today so wont have time to get it on till I get back. Also replaced all the brake lines with SS and I am waiting to get a replacement for one that was wrong. Its looking good so far, ended up replacing alot more than I had orginally planned. Hope to have it done the first couple weeks in August, if I can figure out the picture thing I will post some when I get it done.
