1 ton spring perch's

i know you have to move perch's on 1 ton to fit 1/2 or 3/4 ton chasis...are the old 1's in the way and have to be removed, or can you leave them and put 1's where 1/2 tons go and leave axle where it will bolt into both?

they are in the way, have to cut/grind off... and move.

i thought about that myself, i always thought everyone just didn't want that for one reason or another but yeah it will be in the way,
