Hi,

one of my parts trucks has these rears in it. I don't know if it's a posi, or limited slip or whatever. someone please help identify? i don't know much about rears. I spin the wheel, and they both go forward....

I have more pictures if you need more. These also have richmond gears, from what I gather 3:73 -- the rear diff cover looks like it had some gears shot into it, so i'm guessing the PO replaced both sets.

front is open, rear some kind of posi, i dont know what tho someone will tell you tho

thanks. the front -- when i turn it from the yoke, both of the tires spin for a second, then only the right side (passenger) -- thought maybe it had something it there? i don't know.

Nah , you couldn't really see the crosshaft with a lockright .

I would like to see the other side of that carrier .

Maybe these will help?

Still a posi-unit of sorts? I imagine this thing isn't reliable as all i've heard about these is bad news.. please let me know if i'm wrong though.

um I dont think its a gov lock and even if it is as long as its not worn out and you clean it up good. I dont see a prob. with then ALL 10/12bolt carriers are weak i believe gov-locks have a bad name because they are OLD and alot of rear ends have a million miles on them so they start to stick and they blow anyways are those aftermarket gears? look like they might be richmont
also does the sides of the carrier have like little looking screens in the side of it?

Open front, Gov-lock rear. They're easy to identify because it has one little window and one really big window in the carrier.

The Gov-lock in a 12 bolt isn't too bad. The parts are pretty big compared to a 10 bolt. I could never get mine to lock up when offroad though. It'd lock up on the street though.

Like the metal flake? I thought about mixing it in with my paint.

Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate the info. It does have aftermarket richmond gears....

I don't really plan on putting these in my blazer, as I have a 14BFF and a D44 to swap in. Just wondering, as people seemed to be interested in these rears in this truck.
