Upon going to Moab, I now have some issues, and some questions.

10 bolt yoke I was told will swap to a 12 bolt, it isn't that easy. It "appears" that the yoke splines will fit, but the sealing surface is different. I have 2 10 bolt yokes that have 1350 u-joints, but the seal surface is Larger. I need to see if there is a seal out there that will work, or if anyone has any info.

D00d, yolks are the yellow part in the middle of eggs. What you're talking about are yokes.

Geez, kids these days  :p: :D

The newer 10 bolt yokes have a "press on" seal surface. I bought one on ebay once and just pressed the seal surface off, and then it was the same as the old style.

On a different truck I repaired a worn seal surface by pressing the seal thing that I had removed from the newer yoke onto an older yoke, and then just bought an oil sea for a newer truck that has the larger ID.

the 2 yokes I have do not have a press on seal surface, so I guess off to the parts store to try and find a seal.

You can have your local parts guy look a seal up by dimension only. Measure the Yoke seal surface then measure the old seals OD and thickness. Easy as pie to come up with the correct seal.

yup, that's what i'm gonna do. I have a parts place in Tucson that is good at that stuff, and I just happen to be going down there this weekend.

Also, the parts Blazer that I got has an AM 1350 yoke on the 12 bolt, that uses the factory seal, so I will use that, and try and find a seal to work with the 10 bolt yokes to keep as backup.

10 bolt front yokes are 1310 , 10 bolt rear yokes are either 1350 ( 4 SPEED ) or S44/3R ( auto , old and new ) .

Thats why I sold off my 1350 stuff , and kept the 1310 stuff , easier for me to carry one yoke for front 10 bolt and rear 12 bolt ( which is in your truck now :) )

Are you sure about that. IIRC 10 bolt rears are 1330. I know for sure they aren't 1350 otherwise people wouldn't need a conversion joint when swapping in a 14ff.

Mostly 4 speed trucks were 1350 , I have seen and sold several of em .

And GM didn't do 1330 , they did S44 , or now known as 3R . Its close to 1330 but will not interchange .

Yup, all the 1/2 ton rears I've had. have been the Saginaw 3R yokes.

I've verified this myself with Jason and Travis. The first time we noticed this, we were confused as hell. So we grabbed a 1350 u-joint and it fit the 10B yoke. Then I started fretting over why I spent $35 on a conversion u-joint. So, upon reading Pauly's post explaining the differences, it makes sense now because earlier, I couldn't figure out for the life of me how GM made 1/2 ton yokes this way.

You should remember the shaft I gave you after you twisting yours the first trip was my LAST factory 1350 K5 shaft :D

Didn't know it was factory, I thought at some point the yokes were changed out. Sweet!

4 speed trucks with 10b rear axles came with 1350 driveshafts. Check out the parts houses online and you will see that there is a difference between 4spd manual and auto's. Cross the 4spd part# with another app you know has 1350's and you will see they are the same joint.

The driveshaft I have in my K5 for the last 4 years and my spare driveshaft are both from 4spd K5's and they both bolt up with no conversion joint to my 14bff. I used to have the S44 joint driveshaft with the conversion joint because my K5 is originally an auto truck.
