Well due to a very inconvenient seal/ bearing failure a few weeks back on the old rear end an expedited rear axle swap was done, free 14sf from an 87 c20.

fast forward a few weeks and after all my parts for the front axle were gathered / recieved and got all the way to the hub locks and viola, hub splines are incorrect. even went back and tried the old auto lockers to make sure there were no quirks with the warns.

went back to Autozone and watched them play around with them (pt # 55005) and the 55004s for a half ton, trying to get either the warns or the milemarker (pt # 302) hub locks to fit into either hub assembly. got another set and same thing hub splines don't match any of the locks.

tomorrow i am going to NAPA to see if they have the hub/rotor in stock (pt # 4886287), if not order them and wait to see if I can button this up.

anyone else had similar issues with this or did I miss something while i was reading up on this? it is really pissing me off that the last 10 minutes of work is now running over 3 weeks...

thanks to anyone that can help

What did you get the hubs from?
A chevy?
As far as I know all chevy internal style should be the same.
If it jeep, there might be differences, but I still doubt that too.

ordered new hub / rotor assemblies through Autozone, part # 55005 through them, for a K10/20 suburban and all 4 would not accept the hub locks due to the machining of the splines inside the hub being incorrect.

i was starting to think it was me, heading to NAPA in a bit when they open to check there.

so it's a defect in manufacturing of the 8 lug hubs.

looks to be, ordered new hub/rotor assemblies from napa that will be in tomorrow. everything 1/2 and 3/4 ton from autozone was machined incorrectly, they just left it on the shelf knowimg they won't work.

went to advance next since napa was closed and they don't even list the whole assembly, just the rotor, no option to purchase the hub seperately.

hopefully napa comes through, if so i will only be shopping at autozone as a last resort

I already do that, I don't even consider autozone, unless they are the last shop on earth.
