Are these lockers any good? easy to install? how much should one pay for a used one?

Most Auburn diffs are limited slips, for some reason lots of people claim limited slips as lockers.

Anyway, Auburn does make a selectable "locker" that's really their limited slip that applies more pressure to the clutch plates when you engage it. So basically when you flip the switch it becomes a very aggressive limited slip, I've heard of lots of problems with them and they're just as expensive as real, reliable lockers.

im personally not happy with mine. i have it in a 10bolt in the rear. it was sold to me under the premise it was a selectable locker, not a limited slip/limited less slip... bastiches
with 37" and dry pack, it unloads or slips and i dont think that could be good, sounds freakin terrible.
twisted up in loose stuff i can still pop it, kinda unnerving.
gonna try and put it up front instead, salvage it and my pocket book instead of tossing it.
so for the money i would stay away from it unless your running 31" forever

When I bought my Jimmy, it had one recently installed in the back. I moved it up front when I did the gears, and it works pretty well. It's certainly NOT a locker, but maybe it helps the 10 bolt survive... In dirt or mud, it'll sling from both sides. Wouldn't actually spend money on one, but if you've got it, use it.

this guy wants to trade me one for a roll cage i have. that was another question i had, can i use it in my 10b front since its in a rear now?
