What's a fair value for a 10 bolt rear and dana 44 front in good mechanical condition? I'm getting ready to swap in my 1-tons and am curious what I should expect to get or what you guys have gotten in the past for the 1/2 tons.

10 bolts or 12 bolt rear is worth scrap.

10 bolt or dana 44 front is worth $100-$300 depending on whether its rebuilt, an anchor, and what gears. O an flat top knuckles add alot of value to a 44.

I've been seeing a trend with the local mud runners for the past few years that they've been using 12 bolt rears and some are even going with Ford 9" rears now all in the name of saving weight.
I've yet to see a 12 bolt blow up, shatter, explode, etc., from any mud runs around here. These guys are getting lucky.

I never really paid much attention to the existing axles since I've been wrenching on the truck since I bought it. So tonight I started unbolting the read end - once I got the drum off I realized it has Yukon axle shafts (don't know how to tell if their chromoly or not), 4.77 gears, and either a LSD or locker (haven't taken the cover off yet).

How would this affect the value? Would you guys part it out or try and sell it whole?

Yes, that makes them worth more, but still not a lot. What is in the front end?

I haven't gotten that far yet. Hopefully I'll get the 14 bolt up by Friday and take the front end off this weekend - We will see... but I doubt anything good

I sold a pair of 10 bolts for $400 a year or so ago. They had 4.10 gears, the rear had a detroit, the fronts had newer ball joints and mile marker hubs. Had to blow off a ton of lowball offers to get that much.

I had a guy offer me a set of 3.73:1 geared 10 bolts with 4" front lift springs and blocks for $100 earlier this year, and I turned him down.

It all depends on where you live. We don't have many older trucks in yards out here anymore, so I'd say 400 or so. I sold my 12 bolt to a guy with a 78 camaro so some of those guys may be interested on the rear axle.

I have a D44 with flat top knuckles, 4.11 gears, geed rotors with plenty of meat on them, Dyna Trac crossover steering setup, and it's only about three years after being rebuilt by the PO. Paid $450 for it and I have been trying to get what I paid for it for a couple years now. Only one bite and thet went no where. :dunno: Looks like I may have to just keep it.

A lot of times you can get more from parting out the fronts... Especially if there's lockers of any kind and flat top knuckles... Guys that aren't ready to go with a d60 yet, still need parts for their grenaded fronts...

The rears are pretty much scrap, unless there's a locker... Usually get more by selling the locker separate and scrapping the rest...

I have gotten $600 for a 10b/12b combo with lockers in both, but that was rare...
