I posted two questions yesterday and one hads been answered (thanks). I have a 67-68 3/4 ton chassis with a rear end that is a full floater but has only ten bolts on the diff cover. It doesn't have a removeable third member and doesn't look anything like the eaton pictures. It is very greasy and rusty at the same time so markings are not clear. Anyone want to name this thing so I can figure out whether to keep it or not?

it is a dana 60 and could have 30 spline axle shafts, the one thats under my truck has 30 spline axle shafts, factory powerlok, and a 4.10 gear

Take a look at the webbing in the corner and look for D60 cast into that webbing if it's a Dana 60 axle. Your other option is to take a pic and post it here for us to tell you what it is. I know GM used D44 and D60 in those years but i'm pretty positive that the D44 was never offered in 8 lug for that year nor as a FF axle.

they are 65" wms, but not all of them had powerlocks (they were optional). mine, also, has this rearend, but with 3.73's (not stock), 30 spline axles, and an open diff.

some gmc and chevy half tons in the 60's had D44 rears, but they were semifloat.

Thanks gents. Did some crud removing last night and did find a 60 cast into the webbing. Also has a little tag under one of the cover bolts asdvising to use positraction additives. I feel better now. Was thinking it was going to be weaker than the 12 bolt 1/2 ton axle I wanted to replace.
