I have a probably stupid yet simple question:
Where's the fill plug on a 10-bolt front relative to the axle centerline, or relative to the bottom of the diff?
I've got an aftermarket diff cover (originally intended for a 10b rear, and I don't have the original cover anymore...) on the front, fill plug seem rather high, and I've got too much oil in the front diff. So the heat from the motor warms up the diff oil (or the air above it), oil expands and gets out of the breather tube. Since that is extended up to the fender, I now have a nice coat of fresh gear oil on the inner fender on the driver's side
. So I could just wait until it has pushed out enough gear oil (the drive to Denver on Tuesday nite ought to do that
) or adjust the level, hence the question about the fill plug...thanks.
