10 Bolt Limited Slip Question

I found an axle with a gov loc in it. RPO code GU4 which is 3.08s. Would i be able to use this in my axle with 3.42s? I know a lot of people say these things are garbage but if i could score a cheap locker that would be cool.

3.42's & 3.08's use the same carrier. I believe that is what you are asking?

Yeah, thats what i was wondering. I may get it, its in a pick n pull yard and i can get it for cheap.

Well they use the same carrier, I wouldn't just swap the carrier w/out checking the gear set-up. It could change. At least check the backlash.

Yeah, i'm gonna check the manual to see what is involved. Anything else i should look for?
