10 bolt lock outs into a dana 44

Well, as you can probably guess from the title, I've got a compatibility question. I know the two axles are the same from the knuckle out. So will the lock outs from a 1983 10 bolt swap into a 1977 dana 44? I acquired a 3/4 ton 44 for my truck, so i can finally upgrade my axles from 1/2, but its full time locked in. Just wondering if i could swap the lock outs, to help with the tire wear, since the truck will be driven on the road TO GET TO the mud pits.

If they D44 has internal lockouts, then yes they will interchange. But if you have the big external D44 lockout axle, then no they will not.

Also, if your tcase is fulltime you'll want to parttime kit that as well.
