i've got 10 bolt's front and rear in my 85 Jimmy. Today i got in a mud hole and got my buddy to look at the wheels and most of the time only one in the front spins and in the rear if i'm stuck only one spins, but if i goose it while i'm already going both will spin.

i plan on keeping the 10 bolts till they blow up or untill i get a killer deal on a 14 bolt and dana 60, so what lockers would ya'll suggest for the 10 bolt? i was thinking "lock right" but ya'll probably know more about this than i do.

You'll probably want to frame your Q with what kind of $$ are you willing dump. You're about to get a lot of would be experts, and good advice; should be fun to watch. '85 10Bs Sub with Lockrite in front, PowerTrax in rear, I love it.

i don't want to spend tons of money on something that will end up being a waste, but i'm willing to get some decent stuff.

i don't know if i mentioned it but i will mainly be doing muddin, but this is also my d/d and if it gives up on me then i have my 66 mustang

If you plan on getting a 60&14 then dont waste your $ on something that you plan on getting rid of. Just save up and get what you really want.

Not sure how old this post is Found it through a forum search, Because I was thinking of doing this same thing, So my ? is what would be the brand of choice for a 10 bolt locker, and who would be the best supplier/web site to get it from.

Ya know, just putting a lockrite in front ($200) may be the trick solution. Its probably the least $$ for instant functionality, before upgrading to bigger axles. Try that, first install the lockrite in front, wheel it and take it from there.
Oh Shnap, I'll bet I don't even need the rear locker.
Bought mine (Richmond fr & rr) at Randy's R&P.

I ran a locked rear 10-bolt with 4:10 gears and 33s for over 2 years and only broke one axle shaft. I ran the Powertrax no-slip (glorified lock-right) and when I swapped in a 14 bolt SF rear I put the 10 bolt locker from the rear up front. Both front and rear are locked now and so far so good:D

Auto; 700R4

I swaped in the 4:10 gears. I probably wouldn't have broken the shaft with the stock 3.42's.
I'm curious, 700 first gear+4:10 starts to impact like a clutch? What T-case is that (4L)?

No impact. Torque overload as near as I can tell; 4L w/o front hubs locked:D
