anyone know a good source for these at a good price. what about mini spools? how bad do they drive on the street? my truck is like 90% offroaded just a little time on the street. any recommendations.

Upgrading is a great idea if you can. If not then drop in a mini-spool. Don't do the C-clip eliminators, I have been told many times they are only good for drag racing & once you start side loading them they will leak. If you are going to offroad the truck with 35"+ tires then upgrading is the best idea to at least a 3/4 ton rear.

If you are really set on keeping the half tons then mini-spool it and put in a set of chromo rear axleshafts. Run that & see how it does.

Reider Racing
Randys Ring & pinion

are both good places to look for those parts.

for the money you will spend on the 10 bolt you can have a 14 bolt. a detroit is cheap and can be installed by anyone.

What size tires do you plan on running? 10 bolts will only handle so much and tires and terrain all add up. I have done a bunch of 10 bolt rear ends on lifted trucks with big tires at work, of course most of them are jsut for the street. Biggest tire was a 39.5" bogger, busted the gov lock, put in an eaton and haven't seen him since, again, not a dedicated wheeler.
