I was helping a friend change the u joints on his '84 10 bolt axle and we messed up the outer stub axle trying to get the old ujoint out. I had given him an 8 lug 10 bolt with manual hubs and the stub axle in it appears to be the same length but the cuts for the split rings appear to be in different places. His axle originally had the auto hubs we will be swapping for Warn's when we put it back together. Will the 3/4T stub work or do we have to find one from an auto hub 1/2 ton. All the reference material I had suggested they were all the same. If their different what years models would be the same?
