10 bolt question I searched

Aloha all, quick question for my 1987 1/2 ton suburban. My front 10bolt is a 28 spline? For subs the change over to 30 spline was 1989?
Just confirming before I buy a locker for up front.
Whats the front axle RPO code?

Dude, There's no RPO for the front that I'm aware of. Call me lolo but, eh whatevers.
I believe that you are right on the spline count, but i'd get another opinion.

If the front axle is stock that should be the case. You should be able to double-check by talking to the parts guy at a GM dealership. Based off the make and model, or VIN, they should be able to verify it.

I made the mistake of taking summit's word on my axel spline count at being 30, wrong, stock sub 10 bolts are 28 count hence why i still have my crappy detroit ez locker 30 spline under my pc desk. My burb is a 85 1/2ton.

Thanks guys, like mad_burban I almost bought the 30 spline lock right.
Lucky for me the guys here at K5 are on it and I ended up with the correct spline count and was able to buy the right locker.
