I just bought a set of 3/4 ton axles and the front 10 bolts tie rod is bent. is it supposed to be bent or am i gonna have to buy a new one?

Should be straight, yeah. Depending on how bent it is and where, you might be able to hork it back with a Hi-Lift and some heat. You will need to adjust toe (i.e. align it) after any such antics.

But, umm, Carnac The Magnificent foresees you replacing the tierod.

Is the adjuster sleeve bent? Or both that and the rod? I wouldn't eff with straightening either way. Should be easy to find regardless...

Are you talking about the long solid tie rod and the short one connected by an adjuster sleeve? He might have the tie rod tube with replaceable short ends, they bend really easy. I replaced my bent one with a thicker one from ORD and retained the factory short ends (driv side has the steering stabilizer mounting hole in it).

I bought a OEM long side, short side, and adjuster sleeve for around $70 at autozone a few years ago for my 10 bolt. Like previously stated though I wouldn't mess with it, they are a dime a dozen around here anyways. My buddy had a bent tie rod on his truck and it caused death wobble. He tried straightening it and no bueno, same thing. Get a new one and call it a day! :waytogo:

Just went through this, cause i bent mine.

It is easily straightened with a high lift and chain, i didn't even use heat.

That being said, that was a temp fix. Bought long side, short side, and adjuster from Rock auto, new.

I am. I've got one with a bent sleeve and long side sitting in a corner for scrap. Would never consider straightening it with them being so weak to begin with.
