Anyone know how much a 10 bolt front and rear weigh (each)? I will be selling mine soon and have a feeling nobody will want them. I'm curious as to what the scrap yard will give me and let that be the minimum I will take...I believe the going rate for scrap steel is about $0.22/lb.

If you go to the for sale section there is a sticky post on weight of different items. Here is what is said for a rear 10 bolt IN A SHIPPING CRATE.

AXLES/DRIVESHAFTS:
Corp 10 bolt rear axle in crate, complete from drum to drum: 400#

I'm willing to bet just the axle minus the crate is around 300-325 lbs.

If thats true, the scrap weight for the rear is ~$66...I would take that. Thanks for the info, I will go check out the for sale section for more...

some scrap yards give less it ifs had oil or grease in it. around here its a lot less for motor blocks / trannys / and starting in on axles. :doah:

I hope that's not true here...they mention that they will take any auto parts, but the oil must be completely drained. I know gas tanks must be cut in half

Throw em in a flat rate and send em my way haha. If you were closer I'd buy em off ya at scrap value. Wouldn't mind a set of 3.73s till I go 3/4 tons.
