So it's raining in California and I just got home from a deployment and I have been itching to work on the truck some. I'm waiting on UPS to deliver parts before I swap in my 6 lug 14b SF (I DD my K10 so I can't pull it apart till I'm ready to swap axles) and I decided to address something I've had in the back of my mind for a while now.

Cupholders.

I've been using the "roll of duct tape on the hump" method for a long time, it works and I always have tape handy if I need it. Time for an upgrade though, something a little better looking. I had an S10 with the cupholders that sat directly in front of the bench and it was always a really convinent location and not much of a reach so I decided to try for something similar.

The Parts:

An Autozone "seatgap" type plastic cupholder and a couple strong magnets from Lowe's (and some double sided 3M trim tape) and a sharp razor knife.

I used the razor to remove the portion of the cupholders designed to be stuffed between the seats.

I added foam tape to the magnets and stuck them to the back of the cupholders, the magnets stick to the lower seat rail on the bench seat through the vinyl seat and help to keep the cupholders located where I want them.

It also makes it easy to just pick up the cupholders and dump out spilled coffee or loose change or whatever rather than a more permenant mounting solution that would require fasteners to remove.

Finished and installed, took way longer to type this than it did to make the cupholders.
