Not designed for 11 meter (CB). I'd check those SWR's and see if you're burning up your radio.

It's either for 6 meters or 12 meters, unless there's a loading coil on the end. 6 Meters sounds about right though, 50 Mhz VHF

what are the loading coil all about? and the meters im a dumb ass tell me more
CB is 11 meter. 6 meter and 12 meter are different freq range. Trying too use a 6 meter antenna with a 11 meter radio you'll burning up your radio because of high SWR's.

I always thought good range was accomplished with POWER,,,
lots of it:D

have a 250w linear for my Cobra radio, did real nice "down the range":D

Power can be a good thing sometimes, but you have too match your antenna to your radio. I've ran a linar amp or two in my time, and I'm sure I'll run another one sooner or later, but like I said, you must use equipment that are designed too work together. In this case, a 6 meter antenna with a 11 meter radio will cause high SWR's and burn up the finals in the 11 meter radio.

I'd have too go with modulation over plain power. Put some swing in that thang !!!!!

:D thank u for the help i use it today out on some hills and i got some ok range. i haven't changed anything. i ran into a army officer at a radioshack who had a active cucv m1009 blazer with a crap load of antenas on it and he said something about a unit that u could use to boost the signal he didn't know what it was called but im sure ill figure it out.

A linar maybe ??? I'm telling you, you need too check the SWR's !!!!!! If that antenna is as off as I think it is, your SWR's will be through the roof. High SWR's can damage your radio.

what antenna? what base?
i ran a mx6707 and ms116 shaft. gutted the base, trimmed the antenna and ran 1.2swr's
