102\" Whip antenna Connection Question

All right got the 102" whip antenna on and go to connect the antenna wires and it is not going to work. Does anyone have the instructions on how to do it? Need to get it done before Thursday afternoon's trip.

Need alittle more info. What kind of mount ??? Some you wire the lead wire to the center and the shield wire to one of the ground screws. Need a pic to tell you for sure.

It is mounted on one of those ball mounts on the side of my truck. I think that is the way I remember but wasn't sure which wire went to where. Now for the shield wire can I just connect it to say any ground around the area of the antenna. I am asking due to clearance issues. I could get it in there but it would be a PITA to get to it. It was bad enough getting the thing on.

Hook up the shield to one of the 3 screws on the outer ring of the mount.
