If you pull the ring gear, make sure you do the following:
Mark the bearing caps and their orientation, they are specifically machined to each housing (and up/down matters).
Keep track of the shims. If its still the OEM gearset there will probably only be one big shim on each side. If its aftermarket, there will be a bunch of little shims and you will probably bend and destroy them unless you've setup gears before.
Make sure the ring gear and carrier surfaces are ridiculously clean. Even a spec of dirt that is a couple thousands of an inch will screw up the gear contact.
Always, always, always use red loctite on the ring gear bolts. If you don't, they will come loose and destroy everything in the diff. I've seen it happen twice to people that thought they knew what they were doing
