Would it be worth it to swap out my 10b gov to a 12b open? I will be running 31's for quite awhile, mostly street some trails and some sand. I might have a line on a 12b for about $100.

Thanks

BTW, it's on a cucv 3.08's, 6.2, th400.

IMO not unless you need the open diff to put a different locker in, or want/need better gears.

I had no problem with my gov-lock until I started putting some decent power to it.

Thanks. I was worried about the gov lock after reading alot of negitive reviews here. I might still grab it for future use.

Well , I broke my Gov Loc with 31's and 32's . I was wheeling just dirt and hills in those days , no rocks .

I went with a junkyard 12 bolt , open for a few months , and then locked it later . Been wheeling on rocks ever since .

Now there is no guarantee you won't break either a 10 bolt or a 12 bolt , its all in how you drive , and what you drive over .
