Has anybody upgraded to a Dana 60 and been able to use the same draglink? If so what steering arm are you using.

I can't remember if the draglink is usually shorter or longer for a 60.

Getting ready to buy a steering arm for my 60 build and I am noticing some arms are straight out from the knuckle and others such as NWF angle in more to clear rims with large amounts of backspacng.

Trying to get an idea if this will work or not and if picking a certain arm will help my chances.

I am down to

ORD $180 (with new hardware) Welded cap Great arm
SKY $160 (with new hardware) All machined Great arm
NWF $170 (not sure if it comes with new hardware) All machined Great Arm

I just went high steer right away but NWF's kit is nice and they're really good to deal with.

Well I already have crossover. Just trying to avoid buying a new draglink.

Maybe a better question to ask would be can somebody take a couple measurements for me?

Center of pitman arm to TRE on the steering arm and which arm you are using. Straight line measurement.

Maybe a measurement from the outboard edge of the pass side leaf spring to the center of the TRE on the steering arm.

Those measurements might give me an idea.

I personally have ORD's arm and it is beef. I however never had crossover on my 10b so i can't help you with your answer other than i suggest you call ORD and talk with Steve and see what he says about draglink length fitting between the 10b and D60.

I do know that the tie rod between a 10B and D60 are different lengths.

You can also check on which arm provides better ackerman angle. I know ORD has tried to keep as close to stock as possible, NWF has set their arms up to use a larger backspace wheels which means ackerman angle is bad.

I don't know what Sky has done.

Search around to read up on ackerman angle. It's not the end all be all decision maker but is something to consider.

I run the Sky arm. No problems in years with it. Going in a line from center of joint to center of joint on mine is around 42".

I just checked and (uninstalled) my NWF drag link measures 35.5" straight line from tip to tip of the tubing (no tre's). Hope this helps. :thumb:

Ok cool. I didn't get a chance to measure what mine is on the 10b last night. Thanks for the measurements guys anybody else?
