So few hours and a couple hundred bucks later i have 8 lug hubs!
Finally!!

Now, go to put my wheels on.. And naturally, they don't ****ing fit..

Has anyone had to grind to fit 15x10's on a 10 bolt?
It sucks because now im having to grind my freshly powder coated backing plates to fit the wheels. And until i get them to fit, im rolling around on some dinky little street tires. And so far 4.10's and 30 inch tires hasn't been great.

So naturally im pretty upset, and its late, im tired, dirty, hungry, horny.. You know how it is. But i scored on some warn hubs so i have that to look forward to.

Yah unless they have 2" backspacing I have never not had to grind the backing plate just a touch to have a 15" rim fit on 8 lug stuff. You don't have to grind much but you do have to grind

you could always have the o.d. of the 8 lug rotors turned down and then use the original 6 lug backing plate.

Did you have to grind just the backing plate or the caliper also? These are 4.5 BS

rotor fine.

backing plate and mostly caliper.

and fyi SEARCH next time. this has been covered a lot in the past. :D would have saved you a lot of bullsh!t :doah:

Haha, i know, i know.
But i thought that it was only on a d60.
I guess that's what i get for thinking..

Lesson learned.

2.5" b/s on 15x10 8 lug for dana 60 no grinding.

3.5" b/s on 15x10 8 lug for dana 60 some grinding.

4.25-4.50 b/s on 15x10 8 lug for dana 60 LOT'S of grinding. and NOT safe in my eye's

and some grinding as you found out on 3/4 ton stuff.

Gring is a pain i know, i had to do it on my 44, my rims are 4.5 backspacing, my dana 60 is sitting in my driveway cus im not sure if i want to grind the calipers that much or just buy new rims...

your 15x10 8 lugs will sell easy. i listed 2 sets last year on craigslist. 2 days both gone 1 guy.

then you buy the summit racing bare steel 15x10 2.5" b/s and paint and bolt on and go. :woot:http://www.summitracing.com/parts/USW-78-5080R/

So i ground on them to where its less than an 1/8" in some places.. Still dont fit. I spent a good 2 hours of grind, check, grind, check. im pretty fed up with the whole situation now.

Maybe i'll give it some more tomorrow. and then if all goes well, i'll start the other side.

few spots will be thin on the backing plate nextto the caliper.

and if you never done it before it takes a bit to get 1st one. then its easy.

Woo! Got em to fit! Should i check for rubbing in a few days? Im Sure the wheel flexes a little bit.
