I'm putting flat top D44 Knuckles on my '78 10blt. Will the tie rod from the 10blt knuckles that mounts under the knuckles fit the D44 knuckles which mount from above? Are they the same size and taper?

The physical dimensions of the taper are the same however IIRC the tie rod itself is straight on a 10 bolt and not on a D44, so as long as the tie rod will clear the springs you will be ok, if you have a lift i think it will work but if it is stock height then i don't think so.
