Ok guys.. I did my searching but this is different..

I have an oppertunity..
his email

THIS IS A 10,000LB WINCH MOUNTS TO YOUR TRANSFERCASE.
WITH SHAFTS AND UJOINT.

I HAVE WINCH WITH CABLE,AND THE PART THAT MOUNTS TO THE CASE OR 4SD, AND DRIVE SHAFTS

$150.00 ASAP

I replied back and now he said $100 takes it... so I called him.. I want pics...
and model number...

I am new with the thought of pto.. I was going to do hydraulic in the front some day but hell for that price... why not...

so I have a smc465/np205 thus can hookup to the np205

but since he has the shafts and says everything.. id have to basically have the exact model truck this came out of or do you think the shafts are like dshafts where they have some adjusting?

Run and buy it! That's a steal for a pto winch and all those parts. The drive shafts are usually just solid octagon bar. It can be cut, or you can buy more for your setup requirments. It's cheap. New pillow blocks (the pivot points for those little driveshafts going to the winch) are cheap also. Heck, a used pto by itself goes for $100 (they're about $400 new). Maybe it's Braden winch?

I've got a Brayden pto on my K30 and it's great. Winch all day at idle. I also carry extra cable on top of what is spooled onto the winch. I've got 60ft and 80ft extras. Pretty well gets you, or someone else, out of any situation.

Now go run and buy that winch!!!

I've been thinking about getting a PTO winch as well since I have a 205 also. I have no idea how to go about hooking it up though. That's one thing I don't know anything about. Can someone get pictures of their PTO setup?

I talked to him last night...
he said he was going to look at the plate and get me whatever numbers are on it... he said his buddy has the same one and hooked up to him while he was stuck and got out.. his bud has a truck on 44's and just let the truck idle and got right out.....

now I havent seen any pics as of yet... I am confused on all this but the way I think this stuff works is this way...

mount winch to truck... remove np205 plate and install this plate then hookup shaft... that is what I thought but he mentioned something about a chain and all... that is the only reason why I havent ran out yet and picked it up.......

just got off the phone with him and told him he confused me about the chain.. he paused and said... yeah I dont know... then he said maybe he was thinking of other things he is trying to sell.... so if he gets home early he is going to go and look at it... and maybe I will swing by there after work..... take the long way home....

he had a d60 front and 14bff rear with disc for $1000
read dshaft new everything - paid $250 but wants BO

Not sure what he means by chain, but I have seen chain driven off the tc. Mostly when winch is mounted in truck bed, directly above the tc. Some tow trucks have it set up this way.

Might be better for you, if not too far, to drive out and see what the setup is. Your correct on the setup. Take the pto cover off the NP205, bolt the pto (gear driven) onto the tc, hook up the mini driveshafts to the pto and winch, away you go. I have a couple of ujts on my pto driveshafts, as it has to weasel it's way past the exhaust and very front cross member (the one where your brake proportioning valve is mounted) before it gets to the winch. I think I have 2, or 3, ujts in total.

I have a cable going coming off the pto, and goes into the cab of the truck. I can engage pto by pulling on the cable. It's mounted near the tc lever. This is a the standard setup to engage pto.

I'll write more later, gotta run to work.

i kno a few mud guys that run them...simply for speed. the man with the pto gets nominated recovery rig. secondly i know most probably arent fns of TTC but the guys that usually do well in the tank trap and dont kill their batteries are the pto winch guys....i remember watching the unimog from canada pto winch=fast

well my plans were a hydro up front.. if im stuck in the muck and need to go onward (as I am facing that way) and the truck is running.. lets go forward.... a pto will also work i guess...... if the truck dies I have mr ramsey patriot 15k and 2x1300ca trucker batteries in the bed!!!! :wink1:

I figure the longer you sit in the muck the more you will become sucked in.....

I will see if I can get there this weekend.. ill bring the $100 and just buy it as even if I dont use it.. I can still sell it for more than that....!!!!

well he sold it...

he does have a 20,000lb pto if you are interested.... $250 he said.. complete and all.. he said it is about 2' wide so it could still fit in the frame rails...
