OK, so far he's ripped it all apart and cleaned and painted it. I helped him add a 110v outlet in the front. Next he plans to clean up and paint the feeder and then its on to bigger tires and beadlocks, offroad bumpers, rock sliders, hypno wheel on the wire spool and some vinyl decals and who knows what all else he's got in mind. I think he wants to add some flood lights yet :haha:

Yep, I am pretty proud of my boys. They have been a bit slow coming around on working on things. These welders were basket cases when I got them. Picked them up for next to nothing (Nothing). Little rubbing and they'll be good as new or better. Sure will be something to look at anyway.

Jeez I need a bigger welder. Its bad when a 11 year old has a better one then you :doah:

It may be bigger than what you have but it is probably older than what you have also. I'm pretty sure its older than my 11 year old. Not sure on that though. It's an old CP-200 three phase machine. One of them is getting loaded up with .035 and the other with .045 wire. Welding with three phase power is pretty nice and I really like this particular machine.

I hear ya, i dont even have a welder yet...hell i dont even have electricity in my garage :doah:

Today one of the boys upgraded the welder to a 1 ton... er I mean 1" axle shaft and added some new pneumatic tires. Had to get them on there to make it easier to move about. They'll be coming back off to add beadlocks. :haha: It's a 4" rim. OK, so they'll be simulocks.

My welder is down.....

My trusty Miller "Tombstone" Arc Welder isn't working--keeps tripping the breaker when I turn it on!...I haven't had time to fool with it to see if its just the extension cord that pooched(its a 50' hunk of 10ga romex cable thats seen some abuse from my plow, and has been outside on the ground for a long time!  --yah,I know its not the right way! :surepal: --but it was all I had,and it worked good for quite awhile! :waytogo: )..I'm hoping its not the welder itself!--wish I knew where to get another arc welder cheap--all the flea markets and swap meets have all but dissapeared around here, its rare to see any welders for sale anymore..

My older brother said he's thinking of upgrading his Mig welder to one that can weld 1/2"in one pass--so he might pass his older one down to me! --I will have to learn how to weld all over again,I tried using a Mig before, its nothing like arc welding!..butat least I'll be in the 20th century!--that Miller must have been made in the 40's by the looks of it--...I'll actually have REAL torches and a Mig if that happens(friend moved and gave me his torches and tanks! :cool1: )...too bad I'm getting too lazy to USE all that stuff lately... :frown1:

You son did a nice job on that welder!--I wish I had learned to weld at age 11!--I'd have a ton of junk cobbed together before I was 13!..

Little progress update.

Also like to say thanks to Lyons Design for the awesome sticker work he did for my son. They turned out perfectly.
