Will my 10 bolt backing plates fit on a 12 bolt ? The brakes on my newer 12 bolt arent in the best of shape. My current brakes on my 10 bolt are just rebuilt. Thanks!

If you use the drums from the 10b it should bolt right on. I always took off the backing plates & left the brake lines hooked up when swapping rear ends so I never had to bleed the brakes.

12 bolts could of come either small brakes ( older ) or large brakes ( newer ) and the 10 bolts only came large brakes ( from what I have seen , and I have seen many 1/2 ton axles they throw away so I have spares ) .

If the brake shoes are the same size , you can leave the 12 bolt backing plates as is , and transfer your good stuff .

Although leaving the whole setup still attached and bungied up to the rig while sliding the axle under the truck is better :D
