12 bolt breather valve

Hey fellas.

DOes anyone know what i can use for a breather valve, my 12 bolt case does not have it and i get a whole lot of durt and water in the gears and have to wash it out ocasionally.

hints or ideas are welcome.

your local junk yard is agreat place to find that breather on most older 4x4.

best way would be to tap the hole to a pipe thread, and screw in a barb fitting.

Someday I will tap mine and get the cage sealed up and run the vents into the cage and have only holes in the top . Right now I have the front ran to the top of the core support and my rear ran over the rear floor and zip tied to my cage above the floor .

When its daylight I can take pics of one my spare 10 bolts thats been tapped and has a fitting installed .

I tap the holes for a barb fitting, run some air line (poly air hose line cause it looks cool ) and top it off with a fuel filter. One of those plastic one-way ones for carbs. Seems to work good for me. Haven't gotten any water/dirt in yet, and I only wheel mud.

all my vents, axles, trans, x-fer case are threaded w/barb and they all run into a ''manifold'' i made from a piece of 3/4'' aluminium square stock, 4 threaded holes on its side w/barbs, 1 hole in the end w/barb...mounted it above the a/c box, ran hose out of end barb and used conduit clamps to hold the hose in shape of a p-trap w/ a small filter on the end, used alot of hose to plumb it up, but it was free from a buddy that works on a gas well, its the ''sniffer'' hose they run from the well into a trailer w/instruments that tells readings off the well, its 3/8'' petro safe and they get it in 500' rolls, he gave me @ 1/2 roll, i wire tied it to brake lines inside the frame, and i still have alot left on the spool...intention is to plumb them into the snorkle, if i find 1 i like.
