Aww, come on now!!!

You can reply about the different sizes of 12 bolts on cars and trucks, but you can't show us a pic of your front axle?!?!?!?!?!

I don't understand why people find it so hard to count the bolts on the cover of GM axles. If you think you have a 12 bolt front and you count 10 bolts.... well... you do the math.

ya know, i figured the 12b front was too sissy to take all the speed bumps at the mall, so i threw a friggin 13bolt in there. that sumbich'll walk right over the meanest curb out there.
i only used that, cause i couldn't afford a dana 45.

Someone has a good picture of my 12 bolt front axle.
Looks like my broken sway bar mount worked, was not sure if it would be make it into the
picture, that's how I know its my Blazer, with the 12 bolt front end.

The dark blue paint on the cover confirmed that it was yer truck for me...

So now that we know it's a D44 what was all this about a 12 bolt?

Ok, I dont think you guys are getting it. What makes a 12 bolt a 12 bolt? Its not the amount of bolts holding on the cover, its the ring gear bolts counted. Now, if im not mistaken, a Dana 44 has 12 bolts holding the Ring Gear on the carrier and only 10 bolts holding on the cover. This is why Executioner is claiming to own a 12 bolt front - which is valid. Makes Sense to me. Now, how many of you have ever pulled a carrier out of a 10 bolt car rearend, and found the carrier had 12 bolts. I had this happen to me once. Cant explain why, but It did.

So, correct me if im wrong, and get your checkbooks out and start writing those $50 checks.

Now to answer the first question asked, yes, I think swapping in a Dana44 is worth the effort. I am not a real fan of 10 bolt GM axles. I happen to think my Dana44 is stronger.
