Hey guys,
I am trying to install a powertrax no slip (9207883005) into my 12 bolt and the thing wont fit. Basically, the diameter on the piece that replaced the side gears is too big (42mm when original is 40mm).

What I have found out, is that I have a posi in my 12 bolt and the carrier ID is EDB 32212. The powertrax website only lists applications for open differentials so I am betting that is my problem.

Can anyone confirm that the shape/dimensions of a posi carrier and an open carrier are different or is it just the internals that are different?

Open/Posi carriers are different. Either swap a open carrier in or get a complete posi unit and be done with it.

Damn, I was afraid of that. Changing the carrier is what inwas trying to avoid. Does anyone know where I can get a rebuild kit for the factory posi cause the clutches I pulled out were smoked and broken.

Interesting. I guess I'll give eaton a call tomorrow then. Hopefully they have what I need.

Thanks guys.

posi and lockers, apples and oranges...:waytogo:

If you need a locker you could most likely get some $$ for that factory posi...

Well, I ordered from Randys Ring and Pinion this morning, I had no idea that would be so expensive, hahahahaha.

Next question, Does anyone have a picture of the order it goes back together? I wasn't really paying attention when I took it apart so a pic or some explaination would be very helpful.

I have a feeling that it goes like this shim(s), smooth disk, clutch disc (alternate till done) side gear.

If that is wrong, someone please let me know.
