12 bolt problem

the little tit that holds the ujoint in broke off...question????can i weld a little piece of steel on the outside of the yoke to hold the ujoint in..
please advise...a new yoke is 80 bucks and cash is tight.. /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif

keep looking for a yoke. call gear shops... I had one that got ground down somehow and i found a new yoke for 20 bucks.

if you cant find one, then it wouldnt hurt to try and weld a piece in there.
