12-bolt question

A guy that I sold some tires to offered me a 12-bolt off a late-70s 2 wheel drive 1/2 ton.

1) Will this bolt in place of my 10-bolt, or are there differences between the spring pads or shock mounts?

2) If it will bolt in, is this a stronger axle than the 10-bolt?

1. It will bolt in, but you will need a conversion u joint as your current axle is a Saginaw and that is a 1310.

2. It has five lug axles so your wheels and tires will not bolt to it.

3. You would be wasting your time doing this swap IMO, as the 12 bolt is just as weak as the 10 bolt.

Just stick with the 10 bolt, nothing spectacular with the 12, very similar to the 10.
