rebuilding the 12 bolt rear end on my 78 k5 & got the pattern right and the backlash all set but can't get the dag um crush sleeve to crush impact won't bugde it and neither will a 2 foot cheater bar. looking for any kidda tips or advice. Preciate it.

You are gonna have to redo all of the pattern and backlash when you get it crushed because it will change the pinion depth. I used a 6 ft cheater bar to crush the sleeve on my 14B. Get a little more leverage on there it'll go /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I always like to use the handle off my Hi-Lift when things get really bad. Pretty good length of cheater pipe that is almost always available.

No it won't!, If he had proper preload when he set it up the only thing that would change pinion depth is amount of shim under the head.
