I have read a bunch of reviews on this seemed most really liked it. So last job I had I splurged a bit.

Sat in my garage for 6 months cause I didn't need it.

Anyway building a utility rack now.

First off if you are expecting this to be as good as a 20" disc sander your nuts.

First thing I noticed is its heavy. I bet every bit of 80 lbs.

I took it out put it on my table ( sanding disc already on) squared up the table to the disc and went to town.

This thing impressed. I could push fairly hard without it running down.

I don't have it bolted down yet. I got it to really start running down but I was pushing so hard I moved the sander. That was pushing idiotically hard.

So far (1 day of use) I love this thing. For the price I really think this is one of those rare gems at HF

BTW with any cheap tool the table needs to be modded a bit to be more stable and the miter gauge needs to be longer

I almost bought that but got a smoking deal on a older craftsman combo belt/disc. I love it, one of the best tools in my shop.

So did a little test @Deuling

Gouged some steel with my grinder.

On the grinder

20 seconds later

Laser straight.

When you turn it off it takes the disc well over a minute to stop on its own. I bet closer to two

That is pretty sweet. I've always been pretty jelly of Greg's and Paul's 20"ers and what they can do with them. (Yeah, yeah. lol)

I'll pick one of these up next time I'm in Chico.

Thanks for the review. It's worth 4 out of 5 cookies. :tongue1: :woot:

Cool. So turn it off just before your done grinding.

Disk replacement?

The direct drive stuff is just way beefier. I know a guy with that one. I can stop his disc with just medium pushing. I mean stop it.

I tried stopping this. It moves before I can stop it

Might have to go grab one Sunday. Would be nice to trim the plates I'm cutting

That's the selling point for me.

Who needs to buy a beadrolled sign??!
