12 volts to frame?!?!

Okay guys so finally back at the shop after some much needed sleep. Heres what i have using a multimeter

Positive terminal on battery to frame 0.04 volts

Negative terminal on battery to frame 12.61 volts

Already got a new ground cable for the battery going to try and throw that on

Did you check for continuity between negative post and chassis ground?

I did actually and did not get any contenuity how ever i installed the new ground cable from the battery and cleaned both conection spots (post on battery and frame) and now i have 12 volts from positive battery post to frame and 0 volts from ground post to frame

Yea just checked i now have headlights putting in a new ignition switch before i try to turn it on as my old one was sticking any ways, thanks for the help guys
